Senior citizens can get answers here about new Rx program Adair Countians can get advice with toll-free calls to LCADDAgency on Aging New Medicare Drug Program enrollment begins on November 15th; are you ready to take advantage of lower costs for your prescriptions? Numbers and e-mail addresses are offered here so you can get answers. An effort is underway now to help Kentucky seniors make informed decisions about the new Medicare prescription drug coverage. Phone numbers are listed at the end of this article for those in rural areas who are unable to attend public meetings. Medicare prescription drug coverage will be available to all Medicare recipients. Enrollment begins Nov. 15 for anyone with Medicare Parts A, B or both. All Medicare recipients may choose the drug plan that best meets their needs. The plans will cover brand-name and generic drugs and covered drugs may be purchased from pharmacies or by mail order. Here are the counties in our region and numbers to call for answers and guidance: LAKE CUMBERLAND AREA: Lake Cumberland Area Agency on Aging, 1-800-888-4707 (or 270-384-4707) for Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, McCreary, Pulaski, Russell, Taylor and Wayne counties. BARREN RIVER AREA: Barren River Area Agency on Aging, 1-800-782-1924 (or 270-782-1924) for Metcalfe, Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Monroe, Simpson and Warren counties For additional information about the program, contact SHIP or the area agencies on aging, toll-free, 1-877-293-7447 Or contact: Lisa A.
