Letter: Tornado of 4-27-71 Vicki Brock writes: I throughly enjoyed the article by Jack Jordan Phelps about the 4-27-1971 tornado. I was friends with him and Ronnie Flatt years ago. In my mind I pictured every step they took on their quest to chase a tornado story. By reading this article again it brought back lots of good memories of my friends. Correction, April 27, 2023: A previous version of this article incorrectly listed the date as April 29, which was the publication date of many news items about the event. The tornado outbreak occurred on April 27, 1971. This story was posted on 2022-06-05 13:11:49
