Barn Lot Theater presents Duck Hunter Shoots Angel

From Kyrie-Inn Blue

Tickets are $15 regular admission, $13 Seniors and students of any age. Call Barn Lot Theater at 270-432-2276 or visit barnlottheater.org.

"Duck Hunter Shoots Angel" is a story ripped from the (fictional tabloid) headlines. It features an unusual cast of characters, from a jaded tabloid journalist to a pair of redneck Alabama duck hunters who've never shot a duck to a half-man half-alligator (played by Joseph McDowell of Columbia) avenging himself on the swamp for reasons unknown.

In the midst of chasing this hilarious and unlikely story, we'll consider topics like prejudice, faith, and the meaning of life. This show strikes all the chords and leaves the audience with a new appreciation of the melody woven into their own lives. The play hysterically interweaves a love story, sibling rivalry, tawdry media, race relations and cultural stereotypes as the chase to find the angel builds to a crescendo in the swamp.

From Robin Frazier, Director: "I've waited a long time for the chance to do this show, and I can't imagine a better cast and crew to bring it to the Barn Lot stage. Duck Hunter Shoots Angel is the kind of show you can see four times and pick up something different each time.

I'm really excited about the Q & A sessions following the Sunday matinee performances; I want to hear what our audience takes away from the show."

Ultimately a sweet allegory about redemption, Duck Hunter Shoots Angel has been hailed by audiences as a rare comedy with a surprisingly heartfelt lesson.

Duck Hunter Shoots Angel is rated PG-13 for language and adult situations. It is presented by Spotlight Sponsor Glass Thompson, and directed by Robin Ford Frazier (Glasgow).

  • Sandy-Kyle Hadley (Russell Springs)
  • Lenny-Jessie Varner (Smiths Grove)
