Jay Caudill, 82, Casey County, KY (1940-2022)

Jay W. Caudill, of Liberty, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Baptist Health in Lexington. He was 82.

Jay was a truck driver, mechanic, and a retired carpenter. He formerly attended Westside Christian Church. He greatly enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family, especially babies and children.



Born on January 14, 1940, he was the son of the late Lunda and Edith Marie Grooms Caudill.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Allison Caudill of Liberty, who he wed on October 13, 1961; a son, Bret (Karen) Caudill of Liberty; two daughters, Anita (David) Tillett of Marysville, Indiana and Celia (Bob) Evans of Liberty; three sisters, Frances (Sonny) James of Greenwood, Indiana, Margaret Kelley of Gallatin, Tennessee, and Geneva Goguen of Portland, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Brandy (and Christian) Iglehart, Bret, Jr. (and Kristina) Caudill, Tyler Evans, Amy (and Jeremiah) Doderer, and Rhianna Evans; and four great-grandchildren, Haylee, Anthony, Aubree Jay, and Peyton.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Donald, Gary, Edward, and Keith Caudill.

The funeral service will be held at 2pmET on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Marty Shackleford officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12Noon to service time. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude's in Memory of Jay Caudill.
