Softball: LWC punches ticket to MSC Tournament final site The No. 15-ranked Lindsey Wilson softball team punched their ticket to the Mid-South Conference Tournament final site Friday afternoon with their second straight win over Thomas More (KY) at Sparks Park. The Blue Raiders claimed the series sweep with a 2-0 win over the Saints after picking up a 3-0 win during yesterday's contest. For the second straight day, Lindsey Wilson made use of a big inning to propel themselves to victory, scoring both of their runs in the second inning. Lindsey Wilson made use of two solo home runs in what was a pitcher and defensive battle. The first solo blast came off the bat of Alexis Garayzar with one out as Lexi Isable managed the second home run one batter later with two outs in the inning. The runs held the rest of the way as Emily Boin (18-3) picked up her second win of the series. She allowed just five hits across 28 batters with four strikeouts. Thomas More managed runners on second and third in the seventh inning, providing their best scoring chance of the afternoon. The threat was adverted with a Boin strikeout before Mikayla Marquez recorded the final out on a popup to centerfield. With the win, Lindsey Wilson advances to the final site at South Warren High School in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Lindsey Wilson will face Georgetown on Thursday with first pitch scheduled for 3:30pmCT. This story was posted on 2022-04-30 09:29:43
