Golf: 5 LWC Men earn MSC Academic Honors

By Christopher Coombs

Five members of the Lindsey Wilson golf team have earned Academic All Mid-South Conference honors, conference officials announced on Friday.

Callum Burns, Emil Gruhn, Janik Hawlitzky, Shane Henderson, and Sebastian Sandin each collected the honor. Burns collects the honor for the third time in his career as Hawlitzky and Henderson pick up their second.

A total of 46 Mid-South Conference men's golf student-athletes earned Academic All-Conference honors.

In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must be in their third term or fourth quarter.

Cumberland (Tenn.) and Shawnee State (Ohio) led the MSC with seven honorees each. Cumberlands (Ky.), Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) and Pikeville (Ky.) had the second-most honorees with five apiece.

Community Trust Bank is the proud sponsor of the Mid-South Conference Academic Award program.

The Blue Raiders return to the course on Monday and Tuesday for the Mid-South Conference Championship.
