Tennis: LWC opens play at MSC Championship on Friday

The Lindsey Wilson men and women's tennis teams are set to begin competition at the Mid-South Conference Championship on Friday. Both the men and women took the top seed at the event in their respective brackets and received an opening-round bye.

The men are set to kick off play at 9:30amCT with the women set for competition at 9amCT. Both teams will be competing at Warren County Tennis and Sports Facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky.


The Blue Raider men are set to take on No. 8-seed Thomas More (Ky.) who hold an even 10-10 record this season. Lindsey Wilson rolled in the regular-season matchup, winning 5-2 on the road. Thomas More won their opening round match over Bethel (Tenn.) in a clean 4-0 sweep.

The Lindsey Wilson women will take on No. 9-seed Bethel who comes into the matchup with a 9-9 overall record. Bethel advanced in the single-elimination tournament with a close 4-3 win over No. 8 Pikeville.

The women have won an impressive 16 tournament championships in a row dating back to the 2005 season while the men have won 16 of the last 17 tournaments dating back to the 2003 season.
