Tennis: LWC Men collect 5 All-MSC Honors By Kyle Jackson Aleksa Ciric was named the Mid-South Conference Player of the Year while Camilo Erazo was named the Mid-South Conference Coach of the Year as the Lindsey Wilson men's tennis team picked up five All Mid-South Conference awards, officials from the conference announced on Wednesday. Aleksa Ciric and Jan Silhavy were both named to the conference's first team while Tiago Almeida and Joppe van Malderen picked up second-team honors. Nicolas Torrealba was named an honorable mention. The five all-conference honors push the program total to 89 All-MSC selections in the history of the program with Almeida picking up the third conference honor of his career and Ciric and Silhavy picking up their second of their career. Head Coach Camilo Erazo was named MSC Coach of the Year in his first year in charge. Ciric and Silhavy were a dynamic force on the court this season, going 12-1 in doubles play throughout the season. They both also kept a winning record in singles play, with Ciric going 16-1 and Silhavy at 15-4 this season. Almeida and van Malderen did well in doubles play this season, going 12-2 overall. Almeida, who also kept a winning record in singles play, went 11-3, while van Malderen did well in his freshman season going 13-3 in singles play. Torrealba did well in singles play this season going 13-5 overall while going 12-3 in doubles play with three different teammates. 10 players earned first-team honors with another 10 student-athletes earning a spot on to the second team. Six student-athletes earned Honorable Mention status as well. Conference coaches vote on the seasonal awards along with the all-conference teams.
