Ribbon Cutting Tuesday for Research Center

By Mike Watson

Tuesday, April 19th was a big day for many of us in the pandemic year of 2021. It was an event to be remembered because that was the day we opened the doors to the Adair Genealogy and History Research Center to the public for the first time.

And the researcher and visitors came! We had a great opening and wonderful support since that time.

There will be an official "Ribbon Cutting" event on the one year anniversary, at 10amCT on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, shine or rain. Everyone is invited to come to the event, tour the collections, and rejoice in the history of our county and town.

An official Ribbon Cutting event was held on the one year anniversary of the opening of the Adair Genealogy and History Research Center on April 19, 2022. The COVID-19 pandemic had delayed a proper grand opening so this event had great meaning to many who have been involved in its planning and operations over the past decade.

Sometimes Beth Ann Holmes can line everybody up perfectly for the official media pictures and everyone says cheeeeese - then those pesky ribbon-cutting scissors fail on the first attempt, causing lots of fun laughter. After Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Ellen Zornes gives tips on just how the giant scissors do best, they work perfectly on the second try. The Genealogy and History Center was celebrated Tuesday, April 19, 2022.
