Mississippi man arrested by City Police on burglary charges

Early Tuesday morning the Columbia City Police received a call from 911 dispatch about a business window that had been broken out at the corner of Jamestown and Tutt Streets and a suspect fleeing the location. Upon arrival, officers located a brick that had been thrown through the window near the front entrance.

They determined that a small amount of cash had been stolen from Sonic Restaurant.

An immediate search of the surrounding area resulted in an arrest on Bomar Heights of Henry O'Neal Bowe. He was charged with burglary third degree, theft by unlawful taking under $300, criminal mischief third degree and public intoxication.

The arrest was made by Columbia Police Officers Anthony Darnell and Gary Roy, and Deputy Sheriff Kevin Atwood. The break-in happened at approximately 12:25 a.m. with the arrest around 1 a.m.
