Davis Owen Turner, 75, Columbia, KY native (1946-2021) Davis Owen Turner, 75 of Elizabethtown, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville. Davis was born in Adair County and lived there until he was 15 years old. During his younger years Davis attended school and church in the Cane Valley community. Davis served in Vietnam, in the Army Infantry, where he was heavily exposed to Agent Orange. He died of complications of that deadly herbicide. He was a co-owner of A-1 Lock & Key, a member of the Association of Locksmiths of America and Central State Locksmiths. He attended Glendale Christian Church and enjoyed playing and singing gospel music. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lela Coomer Turner and a sister, Jean Carolyn (Arthur) Frost. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Powell Turner; two daughters, Angela Turner and Amanda Gary (Mike Cecil) all of Elizabethtown; one sister, Virginia Nell Sturgeon (Ken) of Shepherdsville; four grandchildren, Allison Kurfiss, Kailie Gary, Jared Kurfiss and Braden Gary; a niece, Kimberly Powell and special friends, Murrell and Karen Burton.
