Tracy M. Thomas, 87, Russell County, KY (1934-2020) Tracy M. Thomas, of Russell Springs, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at the Russell County Hospital. He was 87 years of age. Tracy was born in Casey County on March 26, 1934, son of the late John Henry and Delphia Harris Thomas. He married Jewell Minton on September 26, 1951, in Russell Springs. Six children were born to their union. Tracy worked for and retired from the state of Kentucky Highway Department. He farmed before and after retirement. Tracy enjoyed being with his grandkids. He was baptized into the Patterson Chapel Church of Christ congregation only two weeks after his wife, Jewell, was baptized. Tracy loved his chewing tobacco. He is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Jewell Thomas; his sons, Jerry (and Stacey) Thomas, of Columbia, Jackie (and Jeannie) Thomas and Andy (and Andrea) Thomas, both of Russell Springs; his daughters, Geniece Thomas, of Nancy, Linda (and Tim) Gregg, of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Brenda (and Larry) Phillips, of Russell Springs; his brother, Killus Thomas, of Russell County; his sisters, Lucille (and Gerald) Burton, of Casey County, and Olivia Luttrell, of Russell Springs; his grandchildren, Stacy, Taylor, Derek, Cameron, Aquinna, Jessica, Bethany, Andrew, Nick, Heather, Timmy and Cathy; his eleven great-grandchildren; and his sister-in-law, Fayrene Thomas. Along with his parents, Tracy is preceded in death by his brother, Donald Thomas; and an older sister who died in infancy. Funeral services are 2pmCT, Friday, March 25, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Gerald Burton and Bro. Jerry Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Wilkerson Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12noon Friday, in the funeral home chapel, until time for services.
