Columbia Junior Madison Smith Wins 19th-annual Lindsey Idol By Venus Popplewell A Lindsey Wilson College junior from Columbia won the 19th-annual "Lindsey Idol" on Wednesday night, March 2, in V.P. Henry Auditorium. Junior Madison Smith from Columbia won the singing competition, which included five LWC students in the event's final round. Senior Nicholas Miniard from Russell Springs, Ky., won second place, and senior Hannah Brown from Greenville, Ky., received third place. The top three contestants were selected based on a combination of scoring - 30 percent from a three-judge panel and 70 percent popular vote from the student body. The three-day singing event - sponsored by the LWC Student Government Association and the LWC Student Activities Board - began with 15 LWC students who competed for prize money. The two other finalists were freshman Anna Kelly from Dungannon, Northern Ireland, and junior Tyler Skaggs from Jamestown, Ky. This story was posted on 2022-03-08 07:27:17
