Kermit Jaynes, 78, World War II veteran

Services will be held at Grissom Funeral Home on Monday, July 25, 2005 at 1 p.m. for Kermit Jaynes who passed away in Louisville. A native of Adair County, he was the son of the late Francis Winfrey and Letha Burbridge Jaynes, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a former truck driver for Wilson Freight.

Survivors include:
  • His wife, Jean Clark Jaynes of Campbellsville

  • Two daughters and their spouses: Gwen and Gary Robinson of Lawrenceburg; Pam and Denny Barber of Louisville

  • One sister, Kathryn Poole of Alabama

  • Seven grandchildren: Lisa and Tony Cowherd, Jason and Cynthia White, Amanda Robinson, Erin and Magnus Lindqvist, Melissa Barber, Jonathan White and Corey Barber

  • Four great grandchildren: Austin Chandler, Caden Cowherd, Aaron and Aiden White. Several nieces and nephews also survive.


He was preceded in death by a daughter Donna White, a brother, Marvin Curtis Jaynes, a sister Juanita Turner and a grandchild Stephanie Barber.

Bro. Gary Ervin will officiate at the Monday afternoon service with burial to follow in the Cane Valley Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m.
