CYRUS Posts Post-Paull Packard piece

1949 story gives account of 600 mile trip by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Young in 1916 car

A followup to the 1916 Paull Packard article, found in the June 8, 1949 edition of the Adair County News:

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Young Take Trip In 1916 Packard

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Young left today for Madison, Wis., where they will visit relatives for ten days.

They are making the trip in their 1916 Packard "Twin-Six" which has been completely overhauled and according to Mr. Young is in perfect condition for the 600 mile trip.

Mr. and Mrs. Young will dress in costumes worn in the era when the car was purchased and they have already been invited to visit the Louisville Automobile Club headquarters en route. They will doubtless attract a great deal of attention and have a fine time as they expect to make the trip a leisurely one.

The car attracts widespread attention on account of its age and appearance of being brand new. Add linen dusters, goggles, peg-top pants and high button shoes and we predict the couple will be photographed many times.

Sunday afternoon they had a dress rehearsal, appearing on the Public Square in the Packard, dressed as they were when they left this morning for Wisconsin.

CYRUS,
Humble Central Ohio Bureau Chief
