Gueta Burton, 76, Adair Co., KY native (1945-2022) Gueta Jo (Spires) Burton of Glasgow passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at her residence. She was 76 years old. Funeral services will be held at 2pmCT on Friday, February 25, 2022, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Roger Poynter officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4pmCT until 8pmCT, and will continue on Friday morning until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. She was born on July 12, 1945 in Adair County, KY to Joe Spires of Columbia, KY who survives and the late Betty Jean Morgan Spires. Gueta was a member of the Glasgow Separate Baptist Church and attended Glasgow Faith Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her father she is survived by her husband Phillip Burton of Glasgow, KY; two children Camilla Jo Carroll (Bob) of Glasgow, KY and Phillip Dean Burton (Jessica) of Russell Springs, KY; five grandchildren Crystal Burton, Brittany Nicole Burton, Justin Dean Burton and Autumn Jo Carroll; three great grandchildren Bradley, Dawson and Courtney Foley; four siblings Donnie Spires (Wanda) of Campbellsville, KY, Judy Burton (Randall) of Columbia, KY, Ann Jessie of Bowling Green, KY and Roger Spires of Columbia, KY and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by a grandson Chris Burton and a sister Cathy Sexton. Pallbearers will be Floyd Burton, Tommy Burton, Glen Corbin, Chris Stapp, Ronnie Bolen and David Poynter. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
