James O. Shawen, 86, Campbellsville, KY (1935-2022) James O. Shawen of Campbellsville passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at his home. He was 86 years old. Visitation is requested from NoonET until 1pmET on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1pmET on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Ave., Campbellsville, KY, officiated by Dr. James E. Jones. Burial will follow in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. James O. Shawen, son of the late Suewella Shawen was born August 2, 1935 in Romney, West Virginia. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. James served his country honorably in the United Sates Army for twenty years. He retired from the United States Postal Service after some twenty years of service. James enjoyed listening to country music and watching Western Movies and was an all around handyman. He united in marriage to Marie Richerson Shawen March 2, 1957. She preceded him in death February 28, 2015. He is survived by one daughter and two sons: Darla Callahan and Greg Shawen of Campbellsville and Gary Shawen and wife, Kimberly of Somerset; three grandchildren: Brad Callahan and wife, Renee of Shelbyville, Hannah Shawen and Alexander Shawen of Somerset; three great- grandchildren: Shelby Callahan, Sydney Callahan and Sadie Callahan of Shelbyville and many other relatives and friends. Expressions of sympathy are requested to be donations to the Til Valhalla Project, and may be made at the funeral home. Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
