Wayne Hobbs, 73, family in Adair and Russell Counties Wayne Hobbs, age 73, husband of Janice Faye Wren Hobbs of Gray, KY passed away on Thursday Afternoon at his residence. He was the father of Shannon Lawson and husband, Jim, of Gray, KY and Staci Campbell and husband, Jimmy of Russell Springs. He was the grandfather of Christian Dykes and wife, Pearl of Columbia, Jordan Collett and Fiance, Katie Goodin and Austin Collett of Corbin, and Katie Campbell of Russell Springs. He was the great-great grandfather of Ella Blake Dykes of Columbia. He was the brother of Ivalene Cordell of Newcomb, Tennessee. He was also blessed with a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. He was of the Baptist faith and worked as a salesman for the Reece Monument Company. He was also a veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Anna Mae Jordan Hobbs and by one sister, Norma Jean Hobbs. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pmET on Wednesday afternoon in the Laurel Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Joe Eaton and Bro. Hershel Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky with the local D.A.V. in charge of military honors. The family will receive friends at Laurel Funeral Home from 12noon until the funeral hour of 2pm on Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Christian Dykes, Jordan Collett, Austin Collett, Nick Wren, Darryl Wren and John Napier. Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Caudill and Phillip Eugene Miracle.
