There will be a time for visitation from 10amCT on Saturday, February 12, 2022, until time for services at Parks Ridge Church of God.

Lorine was born on September 2, 1936, in Nashville, Tennessee, daughter of the late James Meeks and Ophelia Horton Meeks Grider. She married Finis Pierce in 1951. There are ten children born to their union. After caring for her own children and family, Lorine became a Certified Nursing Assistant, and cared for the elderly.

Lorine loved to cook; she was known to make a feast from few ingredients. Her biscuits and red-eye gravy couldn't be beat. She was an animal lover, especially horses, dogs and birds. For many years, she kept every kind of birdhouse and would raise chickens, ducks and geese from eggs.

Lorine attended The Solid Rock Church in Middletown. She loved Jesus with all her heart. Her Homegoing leaves a sadness for her family in her loss, but they have comfort in knowing where she is now.

She is survived by her ten children; her sons, Finis Pierce, Jr., Gary (and Pearlie) Pierce and James (and Deborah) Pierce, all of Russell Springs; her daughters, Donna Oquendo, of Joelton, Tennessee, Carol Tennett, of Harrisburg, Illinois, Brenda (and Rex) Williams, of Clarksville, Tennessee, Cheryl (and Cotton) Kerr, Judy (and Randy) Hunter, Kathy (and Paul) Boggess, all of Columbia, and Sabrina (and Roy) Walls, of Frankfort; her brothers, Edward Meeks and Lee Roy Meeks, both of Ashland City, Tennessee; her sister-in-law and best friend, Zenda Meeks, of Sugartown, Louisiana; her 30 grandchildren; and her numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Lorine is preceded in death by her husband, Finis Pierce, who passed away on February 21, 2009; her step-father, John Grider; two brothers, James Meeks and Jerry Meeks; and two sisters, Linda Grider and Sarah Meeks.

Pallbearers will be Gary Pierce, James Pierce, Rex Williams, Brandon Bradley, Roy Walls, Garrett Withers and Dillon Leach.

Lorine's arrangements are entrusted to Bernard Funeral Home. An online guestbook is available at www.bernardfuneralhome.com.
