Orville Damon Garmon, 87, Edmonton, KY (1934-2022)

Orville Damon Garmon of Edmonton passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 in Bullitt County.

Funeral services for Orville Garmon will be held at 1pmCT on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East St., Edmonton, KY, with burial to follow in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30amCT on Saturday until the service time at the funeral home.


He was born February 15, 1934 in Metcalfe County, he was the son of the late Herman and Irene Hendrick Garmon. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Thurman Garmon. Two brothers, Radford and Bonnie Lewis Garmon, a sister Erbana Kurtz.

Mr. Garmon retired as a plant manager and was a member of the Grace Union Baptist Church. Orville loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was classified as the world's greatest apple peeler. He loved peeling them to make dried apples.

Mr. Garmon is survived by two children. Roger (Vickie) Garmon of Mt. Washington, Kentucky. Tammi (Dwight) Garmon of Edmonton. His grandchildren. Amanda Miracle, Amber McClure, Tiffany Acree, Damon, Joseph and Bridgett Summers. BJ "Kristy" and Wendy Summers. Great grandchildren. Hailey, Christian and Madalyn Miracle, Joshua, Alexis and Austin Gumm, Kayla Kidd, Kamryn Summers and Star Acree. A brother, Lonnie Garmon and a sister Margie Jean Shaw.
