Young Greensburg man killed in the line of duty in Iraq

Sgt. Ryan Jay Montgomery, age 22, of Greensburg, was killed in the line of duty on Sunday, July 3, 2005 near Baghdad in Iraq. He was serving alongside his twin brother, Specialist Bryan Ray Montgomery who is accompanying his brother's body home for burial in Green County.

Sgt. Ryan Jay Montgomery is survived by his Father: Raymond Jay Montgomery of Greensburg.

His Mother: Patricia Cheryl Thompson Montgomery of Campbellsville.

His Step-Mother: Sharon Lee Montgomery of Greensburg.

His Brother & Sister: Specialist Bryan Ray Montgomery and Ashley Nichole Montgomery, both of Campbellsville.

A Step-Brother: Grant Riggs of Indiana

2 Grandparents: William Ottis Montgomery, Sr. of Brandenburg and Edna Foley of Campbellsville.

2 step-grandparents: Marietta Montgomery of Brandenburg and Norman Skaggs of Greensburg.

The funeral services for Sgt. Ryan Montgomery are incomplete and will be announced at a later date by the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg.
