Deanie Bryant, 79, Adair Co., KY native (1942-2022)

Deanie Bryant of Edinburgh, IN, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Indiana. She was 79 years old.

A funeral service will be conducted by Reverend Danny Bailey at 1pmET on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church, 905 S Main St, Edinburgh, IN. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

Calling will be from 10amET on Saturday until time of service at the church.

The family is suggesting that masks be worn.


She was born March 12, 1942 in Adair County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Nelson Lee and Maude E. (Simpson) Burton. She married Donald Ray Bryant on November 4, 1961 and he survives. She is also survived by her son, Michael Ray (Gretchen) Bryant of Edinburgh, Indiana, daughter, Karen Lynn (Phillip) Kelly of Franklin, Indiana, grandchildren, Kacie (Jon) Miller, Katelyn (John) Owen, Kinser Bryant (Sydney Schlotter), and Parker Bryant (Destiney Ramey), great-granddaughter, Nora Miller, and sisters, Mae Smith of Edinburgh, Indiana, Jewell Harmon of Edinburgh, Indiana, Freda Black of Columbus, Indiana, Lois Burton of Byrdstown, Tennessee, and Martha (Paul) Wheat of Edinburgh, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, James Burton, Bobby Burton, and Willie Foster, and sisters, Mayme Stapleton, Versie Streeval, Leoma Hadley, and Mary Lois Burton.

Deanie was a member of the Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending church, her grandchildren, gardening, fishing, vacationing, and shopping.
