LCDHD: Vaccination is best protections against hospitalization By Sam Price Lake Cumberland District Health Department LCDHD is transitioning away from a daily brief and instead will be providing the state daily brief, which includes numbers and data for each county. State Report for 31 Jan 2022: https://chfs.ky.gov/agencies/dph/covid19/COVID19DailyReport.pdf Due to the increase in cases, LCDHD local numbers are behind and we are encouraging the public to utilize the state data moving forward. Any data we are reporting is skewed because it is incomplete. There are MANY, MANY more cases each day than we can work through in every county. Another consideration is the prevalence of at home tests in our communities. These tests, while a valuable tool, are not reportable to the health department and therefore are not calculated in any reports. LCDHD will provide the state report daily and also a summary of LCDHD specific details weekly each Monday, beginning next week. I hope this will be adequate and acceptable during this very difficult and busy time. The most important take away from this is - COVID-19 is everywhere. The best protection against serious illness, hospitalization and death remains vaccination. If you have not received your vaccinations, we encourage you to consider that. And if you have been vaccinated, but not boosted, please get boosted! This story was posted on 2022-02-01 07:06:15
