Volunteer opportunity coming up in Louisiana

By Deborah White

Eight Days of Hope (EDOH) will host its seventeenth rebuilding trip in LaPlace, Louisiana, to help rebuild homes impacted by Category 4 Hurricane Ida.

This outreach will take place from April 9-16 and will bring together thousands of volunteers from across the country to provide roofing, drywall, electrical, painting, and more to families who were devastated by the storm's impact.

"Our friends in LaPlace have faced so much hardship over the past few years as natural disasters continue to hit this region. It is time for us to come together with the skills we have been blessed with to help this community rebuild their homes and their lives," says Stephen Tybor III, EDOH President and CEO.

Volunteering for this outreach will open on Friday, January 21. Volunteering is free, and food and lodging are provided. To volunteer or for more information visit www.eightdaysofhope.com.

Except for a small staff, Eight Days of Hope is an all-volunteer organization serving all people regardless of race, gender, religion or ethnicity.
