Basketball: LWC Men kick off six-game homestand By Kyle Jackson The Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team returns home on Monday afternoon, January 24, 2022, to kick off a six-game homestand starting with (RV) Pikeville (KY). Tipoff is scheduled for 4pmCT. The Blue Raiders (8-10, 1-9 MSC) enter the match after losing their fourth straight game in a tight 89-92 match against Shawnee State (OH). Four Blue Raiders hit double digit scoring in the loss. Junior guard Elijah Jordan continues to lead the team in points per game averaging 14.9, the ninth-best in the conference while also shooting 57.4 percent from beyond the arc, the highest percentage from the three-point line in the conference and third-best in the NAIA. Sophomore guard Mark Edmond continues to lead the team in rebounds per game averaging 7.6 so far this season ranking fourth in the conference. As a team, the Blue Raiders are averaging 76 points per game and are shooting 46 percent from the floor. As for the Bears (13-4, 6-3 MSC), they enter the match after defeating Life (Ga.) 55-49 on Saturday. Sophomore guard Korbin Spencer led the Bears to the victory after scoring 12 points and six rebounds in the game. The Bears are led by junior guard Darius Love who leads the team in PPG averaging 11.8. Spencer leads the side in RPG as he averages 5.6 boards per game. As a team, the Bears are averaging 82.9 points per game, the second most in the conference and are shooting 51.5 percent from the floor, the best shooting percentage from the field in the MSC. Today's meeting will be the first time the two programs have met this season as the Blue Raiders have lost the last three-straight against the Bears.
