Maurice Taylor Beard, 77, Greensburg, KY (1944-2022)

Maurice Taylor Beard of Greensburg passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at his home. He was 77 years old.

A memorial service for Maurice Taylor Beard will be conducted at 10amCT on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the Community Baptist Church.

Keeping with his wishes, cremation was chosen, and burial will take place in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Bro. Mark Lile and Bro. Dylan Penick officiating.

Visitation is requested from 9amCT until time of the service.


Maurice Taylor Beard, son of the late Clem Taylor Beard and Mahauta "Tat" Kathleen Nunn Beard, was born on Thursday, April 27, 1944 in Green County, Kentucky.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, and attended the Community Baptist Church. Mr. Beard was also a retired driver for Ron and Brenda's Transport, and was a former manufacturing and factory worker.

Survivors include his longtime companion: Norma Houk of Greensburg; a son and daughter: Robby Beard of Greensburg and Cindy Milby of Campbellsville; bonus children: Marcia and Brian Penick and Jeff and Debra Houk both of Greensburg; five grandchildren: Whitney Henderson and her husband, James, Dylan Penick, Jeffrey Houk, Kyle Houk, and Cody Houk; 9 great-grandchildren: Gracie, Aubree, Atlee, Cooper, Sawyer, Raegan, Allie, Remi and Alaya; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Cheryl and Doug Shive, and Ginger and Jimmy Wilcoxson all of Green County; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Community Baptist Church Sanctuary Fund, which can be made at the church or the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home.
