Driver airlifted, horse killed, in US 127 collision

Preston McKinight 53, Liberty, was flown to the UK Medical Center following a truck-horse accident on US 127, Monday, June 6, 2005, at 3:30 a.m.

Mr. McKnight was traveling north in a 1994 Chevrolet pickup truck on US 127. At a point about one mile south of Liberty, his vehicle truck a horse which crossed into its path, killing the horse on impact.

Mr. McKnight was wearing a seatbelt. A passenger, Christ Johnson, 17, Liberty, KY, was also belted. He was not injured.
