Christmas Parade 2021 draws crowds to Columbia Saturday More 2021 Christmas Parade coverage and photos: Christmas Parade 2021 - Winners The 30th annual Christmas parade by the Columbia-Adair Chamber of Commerce was held Saturday, December 4, 2021 in parade-perfect weather. It started from the old Industrial Park on South 55, entertaining families in cars lining the road as it wound its way down Jamestown Street, around the Public Square, and ending on Burkesville Street. Participants joining Santa and Mrs. Claus waving from the back of the Firetruck included the superstar ACHS Marching Band, ACHS Jr. ROTC and so many more around the theme of 'Home Town Christmas'. Parade marshals were from 'Local Heroes' who stopped to light the Christmas Tree on the Square that is donated and decorated by Adair County FFA. Judged participants winners are: First place float - Pickett's Chapel Church. Second Place - Bloomington Chapel Church. Third Place - Columbia Church of Christ. Non-floats: First Place - Adair County FFA. Second Place: Southern Nest Realty. Out of town floats: First Place - Russell County Jaycees. Second Place: US All-Star Softball Champs 12U LL. More good entries will be announced in the linked pictures that will be added to Columbia Magazine tomorrow and all through the week. Really, every participant was a winner, sharing in the joy of the evening kicking off the hustle and bustle and excitement of this Christmas season - a little more normal this year with the pandemic numbers more in control than they were last year. Please, if you haven't already, get the COVID-19 vaccination and mask up inside in crowds to help get the virus stopped. This story was posted on 2021-12-05 07:56:03
