Mother shot dead in Clinton County, son charged with murder

At 12:46 a.m. Tuesday Clinton County 911 received a call from the Allie Johnson residence near Albany. The caller advised that Mrs. Johnson was unresponsive and needed attention.

Clinton County EMS responded and she was taken to the Clinton County Hospital where it was determined she had been shot.

The hospital contacted local police who in turn contacted the Kentucky State Police in Columbia.

Allie Johnson, 67, was pronounced dead at the Clinton County Hospital by the coroner.

Approximately 4:30 a.m. Tuesday Kenneth D. Johnson, 30, who was the victim's son, was arrested and charged with murder. He is lodged in the Clinton County Jail.

The case is being investigated by units form KSP Post 15 in Columbia assisted by Clinton County Sheriff's Department and the Albany Police Department.
