Betty Ann Brown, 82, Jamestown, KY (1939-2021) Betty Ann Bruton Brown of Jamestown, formerly of Columbia, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 her residence. She was 82 years old. Funeral services will be held at 2pmCT on Friday, November 26, 2021, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Rev. William Davenport and Rev. Steve Pescosolido officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10amCT on Friday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. She was born in Cumberland County, KY on August 7, 1939 to the late Kelly Paul and Flossie Shelley Bruton. Betty graduated from Adair County High School and then Lindsey Wilson College in 1960. She had 35 years of service as an Administrative Assistant to the President at Lindsey Wilson College. She was an over 50 year member of Trinity United Methodist Church. After moving to Jamestown, KY to be near their family, they joined the First Baptist Church of Russell Springs. She enjoyed anything involving her grandchildren, she was their biggest supporter. She loved her family and church. She was a wonderful cook and used that gift to bless many, many people over the years. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Fred Brown; two daughters Beth Ann Johnson (Rodney) and Shelley Smith (Jonathan) both of Jamestown, KY; Two granddaughters Macey Johnson (fiance Dustin Gosser) and Morgan Johnson; two grandsons Colby and Jackson Smith; a sister Nelda Bruton Dockins of Jamestown, KY and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters Hilda Hatcher and Brenda Thrasher and a brother Bernal Eugene Bruton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Gideon Bibles.
