OLD HOUSE INQUIRY: Reader seeks information about her future Adair County home

A reader buying a home in the Gradyville area is hoping some of us will be able to share history about the house. Her letter to ColumbiaMagazine.com follows:
Hello, I am in the process of (hopefully) buying a house in the Gradyville community of Adair County. It's about 4 miles out (of Columbia) on the Edmonton Road. It sits off the road just past the bridge there. It's a big yellow (vinyl sided) 2 story house. We were told by the present owners (whose parents renovated it when they bought it in the 1980's) that it was built by a doctor back in the latter 1880's or 1890's, maybe the first teen's of 1900, even. Not for sure.

If you can give me any information on this house, or can point me in the right direction, I'd very much appreciate it. The house is in wonderful condition for its age and I am a lover of history, especially house history.

Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Sincerely, M. Mann
