Grider arrested after threatening a woman with an axe; running from police

Trooper Jeremy Johnson filed a report of an early Wednesday morning pursuit which resulted in the arrest of a Russell County man. The KSP Columbia Post received a call that a 30-year-old man, Otha David Grider, was threatening a female subject with an axe. Johnson, along with the Russell County Sheriff's units located and attempted to stop the vehicle near the Lake Cumberland State Park.

Grider refused to comply and a near 30-mile pursuit ensued. It ended when Trooper Johnson forced Grider's vehicle off the roadway at the Junction of KY Highways 829 and 90 in Clinton County.

Grider was treated and released at the Clinton County Hospital and then lodged in the Russell County Jail under numerous charges, including a felony charge of fleeing or evading police during a domestic incident. More charges will be filed as the investigation continues.
