Public is invited to first 'Art in the Alley festival' in Greensburg The public is invited to the first annual Greensburg 'Art in the Alley' festival on Saturday, May 28, 2005. Artists will be located in North Alley behind City Hall and several will be demonstrating their genre from leather tooling and throwing pottery to jewelry making and painting. It will be held downtown just off the renovated square between the hours of 9 and 5. Lucy Tucker's will serve gourmet box lunches and summertime tea; historic A. Ennis' Lunchroom will be grilling tenderloins outside; and The Pickin' Palace and several other restaurants will have specials. Live music will range from violinists to bluegrass. Warren Wolfe will be playing Celtic folk music from the Jury Room balcony of the oldest Courthouse west of the Alleghenies. Plants and seeds will be sold from the Heritage Garden by the local Garden Club. Walk across the unique 40 ft high footbridge and peek in on a restored Depot. A gallery of paintings and crafts by Pansy Phillips and Mildred Colvin will be on view across the street from the Alley in the Methodist Church. David and Lalie Dick will be on hand selling and signing their latest books in The Plaid Pea***** garden. Frannie the dollmaker will have an exhibit in Glover Station Antique Mall located on the Square. We invite you to come to Art in the Alley and spend an enjoyable day in Greensburg. The event is sponsored by the Greensburg Arts Council and will feature several of Kentucky's artisans exhibiting their work.
