  • Aaron Chadwell, 18, injured in one-car accident

  • Edmonds now in Adair Jail
A single vehicle accident occurred Thursday morning about 5:30 a.m. one mile south of Columbia on Highway 61.

Aaron Chadwell, age 18, of Columbia was traveling south when he lost control of his 1992 Buick, traveled 150 feet down a ditch line, struck a driveway tile, went airborne and flipped at least once.

Chadwell was transported to Westlake Regional Hospital by Adair County EMS with possible head and neck injuries. He was wearing his seat belt and the air bag did deploy.

Sheriff Steve Cheatham investigated, assisted by Columbia City Police Officers Justin Claywell and Josh Brockman. The Adair County Rescue Squad also responded to the accident and provided assistance with traffic control.
Edmonds now in Adair Jail

Edmonds is charged with fleeing and evading police, reckless driving, speeding, wanton endangerment and contempt of court.
