Sheriff's Report: Driver hospitalized at Westlake after Hwy 61 South wreck
Aaron Chadwell, age 18, of Columbia was traveling south when he lost control of his 1992 Buick, traveled 150 feet down a ditch line, struck a driveway tile, went airborne and flipped at least once. Chadwell was transported to Westlake Regional Hospital by Adair County EMS with possible head and neck injuries. He was wearing his seat belt and the air bag did deploy. Sheriff Steve Cheatham investigated, assisted by Columbia City Police Officers Justin Claywell and Josh Brockman. The Adair County Rescue Squad also responded to the accident and provided assistance with traffic control. Edmonds now in Adair Jail Brent Edmonds, 48, of Russell Springs, who was able to elude police after fleeing the courthouse on Monday, was taken into custody Wednesday night in Russell County and transported to the Adair County Regional Jail. Edmonds is charged with fleeing and evading police, reckless driving, speeding, wanton endangerment and contempt of court. Story courtesy Adair County Sheriff Steve Cheatham.
