Davis, Bearden, Mattingly auto accidents investigated

Kentucky State Police Columbia Post activity has included working the following auto accidents:
  • Mary K. Davis, experiencing medical problems, ran off Campbellsville Road
  • Bonnie J. Bearden, Knifley, lost control of car, ran off Highway 206
  • 28-year old Anthony Mattingly, Jr., killed in firey auto crash


Mary K. Davis, admitted to Westlake Regional Hospital
Mary K. Davis of Columbia was admitted to Westlake Regional Hospital on May 4, 2005 when she experienced medical problems, ran off the left shoulder of the road and struck farm equipment at G & G Motors in Columbia. Ms. Davis, age 82, was treated for minor injuries and a diabetic episode. Trooper Greg Brown investigated the accident.

Bonnie J. Bearden, Knifley, treated and released
Bonnie Bearden of Knifley was treated and released at the Casey County Hospital after losing control of her 93 Ford Escort. She was traveling West on KY 206 when she lost control, ran off the road, struck an embankment and a tree. Trooper Tyson Lawson investigated the accident.

28-year old Anthony Mattingly, Jr., killed
The state medical examiner's office positively identified the remains from the fatal accident that occurred May 4, 2005 in Marion County. The victim and only occupant in the vehicle, was Francis Anthony Mattingly, Jr. He was traveling north on KY 527 in a 91 Chevy Camaro when he ran off the road and struck a tree and the vehicle burst into flames. Trooper David Gibbs investigated the accident.
