2022 Primary Election Information

If an individual wants to change party affiliation, the deadline is December 31, 2021, to be able to vote in the 2022 Primary Election.

Voters may change party affiliation, change address, or register to vote by one of the following 2 methods:
  • Coming into Clerk's Office, 424 Public Square, Ste 3, Columbia KY, during normal business hours Monday-Friday (8amCT to 4pmCT), Saturdays (8amCT to 11amCT)
  • Online:

Candidate filing deadline:
These are the dates for candidates filing for the 2022 Primary and General Elections:

  • Earliest date to affix signature: November 3, 2021
  • Earliest date to file: November 3, 2021
  • Latest date to file: January 7, 2022
  • Filing deadline for candidates that only run in the General: June 7, 2022
Papers for candidates to file to run in the upcoming primary election can be picked up at the Adair County Clerk's Office during normal business hours, Monday-Friday (8amCT to 4pmCT), or Saturdays (8amCT to 11amCT). Adair County Clerk's Office, 424 Public Square, Ste 3, Columbia KY.

Ballot Access Filing Forms are also available for download from The forms can be partially filled out before printing, but they must be submitted in person, so that the candidate, the notary (where applicable), and the petitioners can affix original signatures.
