Marilyn C. Hunter, 77, Columbia, KY (1944-2021)

Marilyn C. (Cundiff) Hunter of Columbia passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021 at Summit Manor Nursing Home. She was 77 years old.

The service and burial will be private.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 4pmCT until 7pmCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY.


She was born January 11, 1944, in Adair County, to the late Ray Massey and Ruth Wilcoxson Cundiff. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Tink" Hunter on December 13, 1994, and two brothers, David and Creal Cundiff.

Marilyn formerly worked at Fruit of the Loom, retired as an Instructional Assistant from the Adair County School System and a member of Pollards Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include:
  • One daughter and son-in-law - Melanie and Josh Stotts of Burkesville
  • Two sons and daughters-in-law - Wally and Starla Hunter of Macon, Georgia, Kenny and Jennifer Hunter of Lexington
  • Two brothers - Glenn Cundiff and Albert Cundiff both of Columbia
  • One sister - Joy Adkins of Louisville
  • Seven grandchildren - Brooke (Casey) Hartley, Shay Hunter, Wyatt Hunter and fiance' Tori Veal, Bo Hunter, Riley Hunter, Abby Hunter and John Hunter Stotts
  • Two great-grandchildren - Hunter Ann Hartley and Hinsley Hartley
  • Several other relatives and friends
