Orville Ellis, 84, World War II veteran, dies

Orville Earl Ellis, 84, 2457 Russell Springs RD, Columbia, KY, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2005, at 3:05 a.m., at Westlake Regional Hospital, Columbia, KY.

The funeral service will be Thursday, April 28, 2005, at 3:30 p.m., at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. John Rielly and Nathan Hale officiating.


Mr. Ellis was the son of the late Edgar and Lou Ella Combest Ellis of Columbia, KY.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie McLean Ellis, Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • One daughter and son-in-law: Donna and Jr. Feese, Columbia, KY

  • A daughter-in-law: Janie McKinley Ellis, Columbia, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Jeff Feese, Craig Feese, Tonya Feese, Timmy Ellis, Sherri Botkin, and Earl Ellis

  • Nine great grand children, several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Earl Ellis., on January 8, 2004

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Walker Lee Ellis, and one sister, Mary Ellen Browning.

Mr. Ellis was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

He was a construction worker and a veteran of World War II.

Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, Columbia, KY, with Military Honors by Local VFW Post 6097.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to MS Foundation and may be made at the funeral home.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Visitation will be after 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 200 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY.
