AC Homemakers to hold membership drive-through

The Adair County Extension Homemakers will be hosting their annual "Membership Drive-Thru" event on Thursday and Friday - October 14-15, 2021 - at the Adair County Extension Office Parking Lot at 409 Fairground Street in Columbia.

Current members, or anyone who wishes to become a member, can drive by anytime from 9am - 4pm either day and pay the $10 annual dues for Club or Mailbox membership.

Drawings for door prizes will be available, and special bags containing items from UK Healthcare, the Lake Cumberland District Health Department, the Kentucky Tourism Department, and Adair County Extension Homemakers will be given to all who join.



Breast Cancer Awareness Month will be emphasized with a special booth full of information to those who drive-by, including a chance to win a personal gift basket.

Popcorn will also be served to all those who participate in the Drive-Thru. Extension Homemakers is a volunteer organization that works to improve the quality of life for families and communities through leadership development, volunteer service and education.

The organization operates in partnership with the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service, and works to provide educational programming and coordinate community activities. For more information, call the Adair County Extension Office at 270-384-2317.

County Homemakers President Sharon Harris, and Vice-President Betty Knifley, have the Extension Homemakers Membership Drive-Thru event set up and ready to go. The membership Drive runs today- October 14th thru tomorrow-October 15th.

Eva Wilkinson (left) was presented an award for having 50 years of continuous membership in the Adair County Extension Homemakers Association. Eva is a member of the Green River Homemakers Club and is a proud supporter of Extension Homemakers. Eva has lots of stories she can share about the history of Extension Homemakers in Adair County. Eva received her recognition at the Membership Drive-Thru event on Friday- October 15th at the County Extension Office located at 409 Fairground Street in Columbia.

Shannon Steveson is with the Extension Homemakers at the Membership Drive-Thru being held today- October 15th in the parking lot at the County Extension Office. Shannon is an Extension Homemaker, and is a breast cancer survivor. She has a touching story to share with you, and she emphasizes the necessity of early detection with a mammogram. The Homemakers invite you to come drive-thru the parking lot and receive lots of information about Breast Cancer Awareness. You’ll also have a chance to register for door prizes and pay your membership dues to the Adair County Extension Homemakers. For more information contact the Extension Office at 270-384-2317.

Mary is a member of the Town & Country Homemakers Club, and serves as the Treasurer of her club. Mary is an active volunteer in Extension Homemakers in Adair County.
