Freeman Dile, 91, Columbia, KY (1930-2021)

Freeman Dile of Columbia passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at his home. He was 91 years old.

The funeral service will be held at 1pmCT on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Bobby Withers officiating. Burial will follow in Haven Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is requested after 5pmCT on Wednesday.


He was born April 20, 1930, in Green County, to the late Claude and Lela Estes Dile. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Browning Dile on May 16, 2021, one grandchild and ten siblings, Robert Dial, Roland Dial, James Dile, Harlan Dile, Richard Dile, Leon Dile, Henry Dile, Magazine Dile Wilson, Ethel Mae Dile Berry and Maxine Dile Shanks. Freeman was a retired Diesel Mechanic for Overnight Trucking Company.

Survivors include:
  • One daughter - Pamela Dile-Wright of Elizabethtown
  • Three sons - Steven Dile of Rineyville, Barry White of Columbia, David Dile of Elizabethtown
  • One sister - Mary Ann Russell of Scottsville
  • Eight grandchildren
  • Nine great-grandchildren
  • Two great-great grandchildren
Casket Bearers - Matt Bauer, Dwayne Wright, Greg Hodges, James Roberts, Dalton Bragg and Freddie Dile.
