Riders hospitalized after two motorcycles collide in Casey accident

One airlifted to UK; other cyclist taken to Casey County Hospital

Both riders were hospitalized following a collision between two motorcycles which occurred 10 miles east of Liberty on KY Hwy 70, at approximately 2:40 p.m., Sunday, April 17, 2005.

One rider was flown to the UK Medical Center, the other was taken to Casey County Hospital.


Sharon L. Dalton, 47, Nancy, KY, was traveling west on a 2002 Harley Davidson, when she swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle and struck David R. Cash, 50, who was also traveling west on a 1998 Kawasaki.

Both cyclists then lost control.

Sharon Dalton came to a final rest on the roadway. David Cash traveled over an embankment.

Sharon Dalton was airlifted to UK Medical Center; David Cash was taken to the Casey County Hospital.

Neither cyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Andy Olson, Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY.
