LWC Football remains at No. 1 in latest Top-25 poll

The Lindsey Wilson football team (2-0, 0-0 MSC Bluegrass Division) remained at the top of the rankings in a new NAIA Football FirstDown PlayBook Top-25 poll, officials at the national office announced on Monday.

The Blue Raiders received 418 voting points in the poll and all 18 first-place votes after defeating No. 4-ranked Keiser (FL) 34-2 over the weekend.


Northwestern (IA) sits just behind the Blue Raiders in second with 398 voting points. Morningside (IA) tallied 390 points for the third-place ranking with Grandview (IA) in fourth with 370 points. Concordia (MI) rounds out the top five with 354 voting points.

Lindsey Wilson is one of five other Mid-South Conference schools to be ranked with Reinhardt (GA) in seventh with 305 voting points. Keiser sits in eighth with 302 voting points while Georgetown (KY) comes in at 11th with 273 voting points. Cumberlands (KY) and Faulkner (AL) remain in the receiving votes section of the poll.

The Blue Raiders continue their season on September 25th when they travel to take on St. Andrews (NC) at NoonCT.
