Marie Kelly George, 83, Russell Springs, KY (1937-2021)

Marie Kelly George of Russell Springs passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Russell County Hospital. She was 83 years old.

Graveside services will be held at 10amCT on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Rippetoe Cemetery, in Jamestown, with Bro. Richie Curtis officiating.

Born on September 4, 1937, in Adair County, she was a daughter of the late Marion and Susie Keith Kelly. Marie was a homemaker who loved to grow a big garden. She enjoyed freezing and canning all of the vegetables her garden produced. Marie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

Survivors include three daughters, Sharon (and Hobie) Richards, Wanda Hammond, and Doris George Lendon, all of Russell Springs; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Ben George, who passed away on August 18, 2008; three brothers, Earle Kelly, Willie Ray Kelly, and Elroy Kelly; and a sister, Lucille Cape.
