Columbia City Council April 4, 2005: Plaque Honors Mrs. Hutchison Photo of portrait, mayor, city clerk follows this item Mayor Pat Bell and City Clerk Carolyn Edwards unveiled a plaque commemorating the late Senior Councilperson and Mayor Pro Tem Louise H. Hutchison. at the April 4, 2005, regular meeting of the Columbia City Council. The plaque reads, "Louise H. Hutchison. Council Member. Mayor Pro Tem. In honor or her dignity and dedication while serving the City of Columbia. 1984-2005." "It's sad we lost her," Mayor Bell said. "I think this plaque, noting her dedication, and her dignity, is very fitting." City Clerk Carolyn Edwards said that one of Mrs. Hutchison's daughters, Sallie Humphreys, had been to Columbia to see the plaque earlier. "She wanted to come to see the plaque and she wanted to know where her mother's seat at the Council was located," Mrs. Edwards said. "She was very appreciative, and very moved. She asked to see where her mother's seat at the council was located."Mrs. Hutchison other daughter, Mary Lester, Piedmont, MO, had sent word of her appreciation of the portrait and plaque.
