L. Laymar Murphy, 72

Services will be held Monday, April 4, 2005 at 1 p.m. at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home for Laymar Murphy of Independence Ridge Road, Breeding, Kentucky who passed away Friday.

Laymar was a farmer, saw mill worker and a truck driver.


He was the son of the late George Dewey and Della Ray Stotts of Adair County and was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Ann Murphy, and by one grandchild.

He is survived by:
  • His wife Betty Loy Murphy of Breeding

  • Six daughters: Della Mae Mendoza of Russell Springs; Leona Marie Akin of Columbia; Charlotte Faye York of Russell Springs; Carlotte George of Russell Springs; Tamra Lynn Helm of Breeding; and Rhonda Renea Burton of Greensburg

  • Two brothers: Arndell Murphy of Columbia and Stanley Murphy of Edmonton

  • One sister: Clora Whittle of Russell Springs

  • Twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren
Visitation begins after 4 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery after the Monday afternoon service. Bro. Ronnie Janes will be the officiating clergy.
