Brenda Faye Posey Matney, 68, Green Co., KY (1952-2021)

Brenda Faye Posey Matney of Green County passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at her home. She was 68 years old.

The funeral services for Brenda Faye Posey Matney will be conducted at 1pmCT on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is requested after 10amCT on Wednesday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service.


Brenda Faye Posey Matney, daughter of the late Elbert Posey and Mae Rodgers Posey, was born on Friday, September 19, 1952 in Green County.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Maple Hill United Methodist Church. Brenda was also a Certified Nursing Assistant for Green Hill Rehab and Care Center for over 30 years.

Survivors include her husband: Arthur Robert Stearns of Green County; two sons and daughters-in-law: Robert and Corrie Matney of Adair County, and Eric and Justina Matney of Green County; two grandchildren: Sarah Elizabeth Matney and Mason Lee Matney both of Green County; four step-grandchildren: Amber Marie Latham of Tennessee, Lindsey Young, Katlyn Brown both of Metcalfe County, Nicole Hiser of Glasgow; three step-great-grandchildren: Weston Brown, Peyton Brown, and Oakland Brown all of Metcalfe County; two brothers: L.P. Posey and Loren Posey both of Green County; four sisters: Mary Alice Meadows of Metcalfe County, Connie Patterson of Taylor County, Peggy Curry of Greensburg, and Linda Hall of Summersville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Maple Hill Cemetery Fund which can be made at the funeral home.

Pallbearers: Robert Matney, Eric Matney, Mike Matney, Jerry Bishop, Dereck Caffee.
