Meet volunteer Charles Barnes Charles M. Barnes was recently honored for his years of service and leadership in the Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce. He is a strong promoter of Columbia and Adair County industrial and tourism development and has been a member of the Chamber since 1965. An Adair County native, Charles is a graduate of Adair County High School and also attended Lindsey Wilson College. He owned and operated Barnes Milling Feed and Farm Supply for 25 years before retiring from that and going into the real estate business where you'll find him today. In addition to serving on the Chamber board and acting as the Agriculture Committee Chairman, he is also a member of the Adair county Cattlemen's Association, Westlake Hospital Auxiliary, Kentucky Board of Auctioneers, Masonic Lodge, Gideons Camp of Columbia, Adair County Ag Council, Columbia Christian Church (62 years) and Men for Christ. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Kentucky Farmworker Program Board. Charles and his wife Barbara have two children, daughter Susan Lee and her husband Bud Willis who live in Naples, Florida; and Robert M.
