Raymond John Benaitis, 78, Taylor County, KY (1942-2021)

Raymond John Benaitis, the son of the late Anthony and Helen (Brazaitis) Benaitis, was born October 2, 1942 in Chicago, IL and departed this life on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at his home in Campbellsville. He was 78 years of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Roberts Baptist Church. He was a precision grinding machinist.



Ray as he was mostly called was an opera music fanatic and enjoyed singing it as well. He liked country and western music, enjoyed cooking and was a fix-it man. He also enjoyed deer hunting and fishing.

His is survived by his wife: Viola (Willis) Benaitis of Campbellsville; four children: Raymond Benaitis, Jr and wife Shannon, Sean Benaitis and wife Dannette, Anita Daniels and David Gall, all of Illinois; three sisters: Alvina Giedraitis and Helen Ann Hupetisw both of Illinois and Katherine Johnson and husband David of Indiana; 13 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law: Norene Feese, special friend: Mike Best and a host of other relatives and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three children: Kenny Absher, Ronald Absher and Richard Absher.

The funeral service for Raymond Benaitis will be Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 2pmET in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home in Campbellsville with burial in the Absher Cemetery in Adair County.

The funeral service will be streamed online on L.R. Petty Funeral Home facebook page.

Bro. Michael Woodrum will be officiating.

Family requests visitation after 10:30amET on Saturday until time for the service.

Memorials are suggested to Hosparus of Green River, which can made in person at L.R. Petty Funeral Home.
