Meeting this morning with Rep. Mobley draws good crowd 'We may in for a boom, here,' Rep. Mobley says Photos follow this story Adair County Judge Jerry Vaughan and Columbia Mayor Pat Bell joined Rep. Russ Mobley at the open forum held at 10:00 a.m. today, at the Adair County Courthouse Annex community room. Representative Moberly itemized the projects in the new State Budget which will affect Adair County, noted that the total state allocations for Adair County are the highest in the county's history. "It's the best budget we've ever had," he said. "We may be in for a boom here," he said. Major topics covered at the meeting were covered in other ColumbiaMagazine.com articles. Search on "State Budget 2004-2006" for the articles. Both Judge Vaughan and Mayor Bell paid tribute to the work Rep. Mobley did in securing the projects. In turn, Rep. Mobley gave credit to Governor Fletcher and Adair's State Senator Vernie McGaha and the Senator for Taylor County's State Senator Dan Kelley. "We're finally being recognized by state government," Rep.Mobley said, "and this is just the beginning. The political climate is right," he said, "and advised the people in the audience to be advising him, and the local leaders, about new projects which might aid the town."Some of the work may begin in the next few weeks. Bids have already been advertised for the Interchange at Highway 61 and the Louie B. Nunn Parkway, according to Columbia Contractor Louis Garrison, who was in the audience. Several magistrates, including Wid Harris, J.M. Shelley, and Billy Dean Coffey were present. Adair County Deputy County Attorney Ray Hutchison was present. And Columbia Police Chief Mark Harris was there, as well as many others. Also present were most of the local media. To contact Rep. Mobley:
