Mary Lou Ashbrook, 94, Adair Co., KY native (1927-2021) Mary Lou Ashbrook of Russell Springs passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Fair Oaks Health and Rehabilitation. She was 94 years old. Funeral services are scheduled for 2pmCT on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Brother Garnett Hammond officiating. Burial will follow in Freedom Cemetery in Adair County. The family will receive friends from 11amCT until service time on Sunday, July 11, 2021, at Bernard Funeral Home. Born on May 11, 1927, in Adair County, she was the only child of the late Virtus and Myrtle Reese Conover. Mary was a retired seamstress and a member of White's Chapel Separate Baptist Church. She also attended Coffey's Grove Separate Baptist Church with her family. Mary enjoyed sewing, working with her flowers, and the company of her dog. Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn (and Lynn) Collins, of Russell Springs; three grandchildren, Eddie Ashbrook, Nick Collins, and Justin Lee; and a host of step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. Mary is also survived by a special friend, Marsha Brower. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Ashbrook, who passed away on January 31, 1996; two sons, Alan Ashbrook and James Ashbrook; and two daughters, Diana Atchley and Brenda Ashbrook. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations of sympathy be made to the Freedom Cemetery Fund. Bernard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
